Pension Protection Fund

The PPF 7800 Index has been updated to the end of December 2012.

Highlights include:

• The aggregate deficit of the 6,316 schemes in the PPF 7800 index is estimated to have decreased over the month to £244.7 billion at the end of December 2012, from a deficit of £252.2 billion at the end of November.
• The funding ratio increased from 80.8 per cent to 81.3 per cent.
• Total assets were £1065.6 billion and total liabilities were £1310.3 billion.
• There were 5,173 schemes in deficit and 1,143 schemes in surplus.
