About D&B

D&B (Dun & Bradstreet) is a provider of business information which supplies the Pension Protection Fund with insolvency risk data on the sponsoring employers of pension schemes that are eligible to pay the pension protection levy.

  

The insolvency risk provider contract

D&B’s contract with the PPF is for the 2010/11 and 2011/12 years. D&B also held the contract for the 2006/07 — 2009/10 levy years.

Each appointment was made following a competitive tendering exercise measured against specific criteria. For 2010/11 and 2011/12 the criteria were:

  • Customer service
  • Methodology
  • Data gathering
  • Coverage of sponsoring employer
  • Value for money
