Salary - Up to £80K
The Role
- PPF actuaries work in three “practice areas” within the Financial Risk Directorate. APLs lead these areas and are responsible for the working environment, liaising with internal and external stakeholders and the outputs

- PPF actuaries fulfil a wide variety of roles managing the £12bn PPF balance sheet
- Keeping the PPF on track with its funding objective and optimising the performance of the balance sheet
- Assignments include valuations; policy development; funding reviews; ALM studies; financial modelling, stress testing and scenario analysis; mortality and longevity investigations; risk and performance monitoring
- Reports to Executive Director of Financial Risk and works closely with Chief Actuary, CRO and CIO
- PPF is Risk Magazine Pensions Risk Manager of the Year 2011
Successful candidates will manage one of the three Actuarial Practice Teams – Policy and Process, Financial Management, and Risk and Modelling. Actuarial Practice Leaders rotate between practices where appropriate and required and therefore a rotation of the existing Actuarial Practice Leaders will be considered as part of this recruitment process.
