If you are unsure or unhappy about any of your dealings with the Pension Protection Fund then please let us know as soon as you can.
The sooner you talk to us, the sooner we can put your mind at ease or resolve any issues you may have.
But, if you feel we haven’t dealt with your query or concern satisfactorily then you can make a formal complaint.
There are three ways to do this:
Reviewable matter
If you disagree with a decision we have made, you can ask us to review it.
You can ask for a review if you think the decision was based on inaccurate or incomplete information – or it didn’t take full account of information provided to us.
You can only do this if you are an interested party in the decision. An example of a reviewable decision would be if you are a person entitled to compensation and you want to query your entitlement.
Maladministration
You can only complain about PPF maladministration if you are, or might become in the future, a member of the PPF and receive compensation – or if you have, or may make, a claim for compensation because your pension scheme has been a victim of fraud.
Reasons for complaining of maladministration include delay or incompetence. If you make a complaint, you must show you have suffered an injustice through the actions of the PPF.
General complaint
If you have a general complaint about the way you have been treated then contact our Complaints Officer.
If you are already talking to someone at the PPF, you can carry on dealing with that person if you prefer.
You should make a general complaint if you are dissatisfied or unhappy about the way you have been treated by the PPF.
In some cases, your complaint may be treated as a reviewable matter, or maladministration as these can result in a wider range of outcomes, including compensation where appropriate.
If you think you have a complaint, then you should read our booklet
How we Deal with Your Complaints and Concerns. This gives full details about the type of complaints you can make, how to take them forward and who to contact.
